A few weeks ago, we talked about what chakras are and gave a brief description of each. Now let’s go a little more in depth, starting with the root chakra!
As mention in our previous article, the root chakra is associated with financial independence, money and food, and represents the feeling of being grounded. It’s associated with the color red, and is located at the base of the spine. It’s often thought of as one of the most important chakras, because it is what connects us to the physical world.
Your chakras can be out of balance in two ways; they can either be closed or too open. If the root chakra is closed, you may feel a disconnect from the physical world and even from your own body. You may become disorganized and cluttered, and lack focus. If your chakra is too open, you can experience feelings of anger, control issues, and greed.
You can heal your root chakra with a combination of the following methods:
AFFIRMATIONS:
Affirmation to heal your root chakra would focus on being connected and aware in the physical world. “I am peaceful, protected and secure.” “I am safe in the world around me.” “I feel abundance flowing through me.” Try and write some of your own personal affirmations for your root chakra.
COLOR
Color is always highly effective in treating chakras. Red is associated with your root chakra, so wearing red clothing, decorating your surrounding with red or lighting red candles can help balance your chakra.
CRYSTALS
Azurite, Bloodstone, Chrysocolla, Obsidian, Golden Yellow Topaz, Black Tourmaline, Carnelian, Citrine, Red Jasper, Smokey Quartz.
NATURE HEALING
The root chakra’s element is earth. Meditating or practice yoga outside, taking a walk outside or just taking time to relax under a tree can help you balance your root chakra.
Enjoy!
