What is Basic Esthetics?
The basic esthetics program prepares students in the application of skincare techniques. Our curriculum covers:
- Theory of the skin
- Facial treatments
- Skin exfoliation techniques
- Product selection
- Waxing techniques
- Natural nail care
- Eye enhancements
- Lash extensions
- Electrical & machine facial treatments
- Makeup
- And more!
Students also have the opportunity to learn the basics of aromatherapy and massage within their program in order to expand their techniques and allow them to provide an expanded experience for future clients.
The basic esthetics program comes with multiple scheduling options between daytime, nighttime, full-time, or part-time. Depending on the schedule option, this program can be completed in about 18-30 weeks.
What is Master Esthetics?
Our master esthetics program at Skinworks is designed for students who have already completed basic esthetics. In master esthetics, students are prepared for the medical side of esthetics. This curriculum includes:
- Microdermabrasion
- Chemical exfoliation
- Body treatments
- Advanced facial techniques
- Advanced skin care massage
- And more!
Like basic esthetics, there are multiple scheduling options for master esthetics. Depending on the schedule, students can complete the program in about 18-28 weeks.
Future Careers in Esthetics
The need for estheticians is growing! According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the expected job growth for skincare specialists by 2028 is 11%. This is higher than average for all occupations. This could be attributed to the fact that skincare has never been more popular. For example, Reddit’s “Skincare Addiction” sub has over one million subscribers! As people gain more knowledge about skincare, the more likely they are to seek out professional treatments. Estheticians can work in a number of careers, these might include:
- Salons

- And more!
Estheticians can have flexible options in their careers, so it’s important to do your research, talk to your instructors, and make note of what most interests you at school! It starts with a passion for skincare, so let your passion guide you into a career that makes you happy!
