There are lots of steps that go into applying for an esthetician program. Once you’ve had an appointment with an advisor and chosen your school schedule, you should go over the list of things you’ll need for class!
You can also apply for financial aid, available to those who qualify! We’d recommend getting assistance from your advisor before school starts.

There are state requirements to become an esthetician! Utah state requirements say that you must first gain an education, sit for the required exams, and then apply for a license! Here’s some things you can expect to study in your course:
- Sanitation and infection control
- Human physiology and anatomy
- Integumentary system and skin histology
- Skin conditions, disorders, and diseases
- Disorders of the sebaceous and sudoriferous glands
- Basic chemistry
- Hair, follicle, and its growth cycle

- Factors that affect the skin
You’ll need at least 600 hours of class instruction, or 1200 hours to become a master esthetician in Utah.
